To raise money for the Mercury Phoenix Trust and to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the death of Freddie Mercury, a charity night of Queen-themed burlesque is being held at The Trinity, Old Market, Bristol on Saturday 26th November 2011.

Brought together by Lindesy Turner, aka Bristol based burlesque performer Tiger Tiger, all acts on the night will be performing to Freddie Mercury and Queen hits.

Some of the show’s acts need to be seen to be believed, none of them run-of-the-mill burlesque, and all offering the audience a visual feast. The show will include double acts, drag, balloon pops, a vintage bicycle, and will end with a spectacular routine aptly entitled “The Phoenix”. Alongside the burlesque striptease acts will be a bevy of lovely local singers, all with their own take on Queen’s iconic songs, as well as a raffle and stalls provided by local businesses, including Pomegranate Boutique based on Park Street, Smutters and Snells and Polly Darling.

Lindsey comments – “I would love for people unfamiliar with burlesque to attend as well. I think anyone that enjoys and admires the work of Freddie Mercury would enjoy the sexy, camp, comic, daringness and creativity that is embodied by burlesque. If you love what Freddie represented, you’ll love this show!”
