My name is Liz Swanton and I am the editor and that’s me, being a cavewoman, fundraising on a crazy bike ride from London to Brighton!

 

Welcome to the Mercury Phoenix Trust website. Our aim is to make this an active, vibrant and interesting site which people will visit frequently and to do this we need your help! 

 

We want to hear from you, we want to share your fundraising experiences and we want to harness your energy and enthusiasm and love for Queen and Freddie in the on going global fight against this terrible scourge which is still destroying lives despite the wonderful success of antiretroviral drugs. Around the world thousands of people a day become HIV positive and there are so many for whom getting hold of these drugs is an impossible dream, even if they know they exist.

 

How are we going to do this? We want to hear from you, what you are doing and we need you to get out there and organise fundraising no matter how small, every bit helps and we want to know all about it. We will then put it up in the Fundraising Initiatives section, where we will post your news, updates and articles. We can also provide links to your networking sites so that others can join your groups and take part in your activities.

 

So whether you’re organising a mass Queen flash mob party on Facebook, rallying other fans to take part in your ‘I want to ride my bicycle’ sponsored race or even setting a new ‘We Will Rock You’ world Queen record (see the Queen Squeezebox campaign), let us know what you’re up to.

 

So how do you set about this?

 

Send an email to me, the editor, at liz@mercuryphoenixtrust.com telling us what you’re up to. We may not be able to publish all the submissions sent to us but will do our best. Obviously the more ingenious, original and quirky your news, then the more inspiring these will be to all the other fans, which increases the likelihood of the news being posted, just remember:
