This year the Queen Convention celebrates it's Silver Jubilee - 25 years after someone said "a weekend convention will never work"!! Our convention is the highlight of the year for the hundreds of Queen fans who attend. Over the years fans have come together and made friends for life, many have met at the event and gone on to get married and have families - those same fans are now bringing their children, and in some cases grandchildren to the convention! We have seen friendships blossom, children grow, marriages begin and end. We have celebrated life and remembered those we have lost - including of course Freddie. Over the years we have also raised thousands of pounds for a variety of very worthy causes - including of course our very own Mercury Phoenix Trust. One of the many ways we raise funds for the Trust is by fining anyone who does NOT come in fancy dress on one of our themed nights! We also donate funds from our auction and raffle.
It's hard work, it's great fun, and I hope that we will be celebrating the music and talent of Queen at the Convention for many more years to come yet!!
