Hi everyone,
Well it’s that time of year, Christmas is gone, the detox is finally kicking in and it’s time to get going on those New Year’s resolutions! Just a couple of weeks ago I was at Aladdin in Wimbledon watching Anita Dobson singing ‘It’s a Kind of Magic’ but now the panto season is over and it’s time to get going with the real magic of 2010, which is going to be a great year for the Mercury Phoenix Trust.
Unbelievably we’re already half way through January and we’ve already had some great feedback, suggestions and offers of fundraising from fans. We have tribute bands with gig proceeds being donated to the MPT, school projects and YouTube posts raising awareness in the fight against AIDS, and the upcoming Logitech WWRY e-bay auctions, with all auction proceeds being donated to the charity, just to mention a few!
We’re ever closer to getting our online donation facility set up with Just Giving, and I can’t wait to blog on my experience as the first to set up my own page for the MPT and raise funds for my first ‘Queen for a Day’ sponsored event…more on that later.
We’re keen to hear of any ideas you have to raise funds, we’d like to get involved and spread the word on what you’re up to and find others that can help. There’s no better way to banish the winter blues than being proactive, so get your creative caps on and get in touch at
