Over the years we’ve seen some amazing efforts and initiatives to raise funds and awareness for the MPT, and in response to a lot of requests for ideas and inspiration we thought we should provide some firm favourites and top tips for you to take into consideration when making your plans. Any efforts and support are greatly appreciated and we are always keen to hear new ideas or provide advice where we can.
Right from our legendary long termers such as Maureen Barclay, who has been organizing collections and auctions from the beginning, to comparative newbies such as Becky and Sal who walked all the way from Birmingham to London and blogged their rigorous training, we are lucky to have some very dedicated fund raisers! So take a look at the below ideas for inspiration and let us know your big ideas:
- Trekking, walking, cycling, running - whether it’s a 5k run, the marathon, or walking from Birmingham to London any exertion deserves sponsorship in our minds, especially in fancy dress!
- Collections at shows, tribute gigs and plays
- For the extreme, there’s skydiving and bungee jumping
- eBay auctions with the proceeds going directly to the charity are now possible through our Mission Fish account
- School shows, dress down days or dress up days
- One dedicated Freddie fan once designed a very special Freddie cake, proving that old school bake sales are still in fashion
Whether it’s through publishing features on your initiatives, raising publicity or providing sponsorship forms, email us at
