The American skincare company, Saphoros Skincare Co. will be celebrating Freddie for a Day all weekend long. Saphoros are taking the generous step of donating 100% of all sales to the MPT from Friday September 3rd through to Monday September 6th. CEO Donna Standridge tells us how motivated and inspired she has been by the Freddie for a Day initiative.
“When I first read about Liz Swanton's maiden voyage as Freddie, I felt an immediate connection to her on several levels. Many times before I had donned a Star Trek uniform and very publicly collected toys for poor children at Christmas and funds for a number of charities. It takes a lot of guts, hope, passion and love in your heart to do what she did - and to go it alone with even a modicum of pride is an inspiration in itself. I was quite literally moved to tears as I read Liz’s blog because I could read between the lines and see how deeply she cares and believes in this cause. She made me want to do more than just donate. She made me realize that I still have inside me the passion to shamelessly do what it takes for a cause I believe.”
“My cosmetics business may seem a rather odd fit, and I may or may not be successful with my first FFAD campaign, but I have to try. I feel my heart's pull, and it is strong. When Freddie passed away, the loss was profound - I felt like I lost a blood brother. The MPT has come to mean very much to me too, and the fact those who love Freddie the most are completely involved and active in every aspect is so very touching. My only shame is that I didn't get more involved until now. Success or not, I am driven. My attempts at raising funds for the MPT and personally donating will continue long after the FFAD campaign is done.”
