Since May 2002, We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre has sold 4,600,000 tickets, seen 2937 standing ovations and claimed its place as the 9
th longest running musical in West London history. In addition to this, WWRY has opened in cities across the world, with over 10 million people going to see the show globally. No mean feat; and its success shows no sign of abating...
So you can imagine that the Mercury Phoenix Trust is very pleased to announce that as of April 2010, we will become the official charity of the Dominion Theatre in London’s West End, where it all began. We are really looking forward to dreaming up all kinds of ways in which the MPT and the guys and gals at the Dominion Theatre and the producers of show can raise awareness and funds in the fight against AIDS worldwide.
No doubt Snakey Annie and Maureen Barclay will still be stalwart collectors at the show, and we are busy plotting new ways in which we can draft in the assistance of all those fans to raise even more together. The anniversary of the show is the 11th May 2010 so keep an eye out for something special to celebrate the beginning of a no doubt beautiful relationship!
