Time is flying by and the occasional jitter is setting in as we sit back and think about what we are about to take on! For a while we started to believe that it was no big deal – a walk in the park, which was mostly down to the fact that quite a few people had managed to make us believe that. When you tell someone that you’re walking 112 miles, they’re initially impressed – until you tell them that it’s over the space of a week. Then they’re less impressed. ‘Sixteen miles a day? No problem!’ Sixteen miles in a day actually isn’t that far, but try maintaining that for seven days. That’s where it becomes more difficult. We’ve made no secret of the fact that neither of us are particularly athletic. We’re not fitness fanatics and we are not gym members! So to us, walking between six and eight hours a day, for seven days actually is something that will take its toll. Having said all of that, we are not in the least bit worried. We know that we will do it. We have tremendous support from our lovely youtube followers and of course, the mighty Ms Murray! How could we not keep going, knowing that?!

We’ve managed now to sort out accommodation for the first four nights, two nights we have free accommodation and the other two have been offered at a discounted rate, so we’re doing ok with the scrounging thus far! Once the other nights are all sorted, we will then need to double check the route to make sure that it is actually possible to walk along that route. You are allowed to walk on A-roads, but some of them have very narrow footpaths, or just a grassy verge, so we’ll need to check all of that! It’s all good fun!

On the subject of accommodation, as you may remember, we wanted to come up with a way to fund it over the week. So...introducing ‘The Night of Six Voices!’ We have put together an evening of light entertainment – which basically means that we have persuaded four of our friends to join us in singing some show tunes to a very generous audience who will then hopefully give us lots of money! It will take place on Sunday 15th August at our local church hall. Admission is £5 and we’re hoping it will be a fun night. It’s nothing to snazzy! We will only have had six weeks to put it together, but we’re pleased with the result so far, so we reckon a fiver is good value for money! We’ve also managed to get some good raffle prizes and we’ll hopefully have a bit of a cake sale too! For more information or to reserve a place, give us an email at walktowestend@hotmail.com and we’ll let you know more about it!

On a completely unrelated note, we went to the Queen Symphonic Spectacular at Warwick Castle on Saturday (17th July) Wow! Amazing!! We went to one in Romsey last year and loved it. Of course, aside from the great music, we got to see Ricardo Alfonso, Mig Ayesa, Jenna Lee James and last but my no means least (in fact quite the opposite!) Mazz Murray! Great night, great music, great singers, great company, great wine..ahem, great great great!! Loved it!

And that’s about all we have to report this time!

Thank you for all your support! J

    Love Bex and Sal x
